Sloped Ceiling with Chimney Hood
Sloped Ceiling with Chimney Hood
Delicious Kitchens & Interiors, LLC
The angled ceiling is accented by the dramatic tall cabinets with window-pane topped doors. The shiny steel chimney style hood creates a focal point accented by the stunning marble and onyx back-splash installed horizontally on the walls. The smooth cook-top is so sleek it blends seamlessly into the honed granite counter top. Designed by Delicious Kitchens & Interiors, LLC This project was featured in the Palace Theatre's Kitchen Tour and was part of a talented collaborative effort including but not limited to the teams at L. Newman Associates/Paul Mansback Inc., RE Marble and Granite, Capital Kitchens and Delicious Kitchens & Interiors, LLC.

Minneapolis Modern Bathroom Remodel
Minneapolis Modern Bathroom Remodel
Castle Building & Remodeling
With a master bath and second bathroom stuck in the 1970’s, the homeowners of this unique Minneapolis home were looking to upgrade their bathroom to fit their sophisticated minimalist taste. In the hall bath, the tub was removed and replaced with a no-threshold tiled shower and glass enclosure. To make the space feel larger a custom floating vanity was designed. Drawers were designed with a plumbing chase and built in cubbies to help keep everything neatly in one place. Outlets, a mirror de-fogger and a nightlight included in the medicine cabinet increase usable storage and add functionality. Porcelain tile was installed in the shower and on the floor of the bathroom. The old wallpaper was replaced with a modern navy windowpane patter. To create a cohesive look, the same porcelain tile was installed throughout the master bathroom. Meanwhile, the swinging door to the toilet room was replaced with a pocket door to save size. The original vanity was replaced with a 42” high high-gloss cherry cabinet, Cambria top and toe-kick rope lighting. To create a spa-like experience, the tiled shower received an Italian shower unit by Fantini called the Acquapura – it includes a waterfall head and various body sprays. The walls were wallpapered with a neutral textured paper that picks up on the taupe running through the tile. A simple mirror and light fixture in chrome complete this modern minimalist bath.

GIL WALSH INTERIORS
Five years ago, this family selected a two story, 3800 sq. foot condominium in Boca with two outside decks, providing an additional 1000+ sq. feet and a small pool. They wanted it traditional ala British West Indies with some transitional design throughout, such as the design of their bedroom and bath. In the television, room which is also used for guests sleeping on the second floor, we created a Bohemian chic look. The color palette in the living room was driven by the rugs which are highlighted in a pastel color palette.

A forest retreat for Peter Bohlin's parents, this small summer home is carefully sited at the strategic position between dark evergreens and bright deciduous woodland. As darkness shifts to liquid patterns of light, one experiences a rich unfolding from approach and entry to movement through the house. Camouflaged among the trees, the green-stained wood house hovers above a boulder-strewn landscape, resting on concrete piers. Rather than removing a large granite boulder or moving the building, a telling accommodation was made by scribing a platform to the boulder, psychologically anchoring the house in the landscape. There is great pleasure in modest means: the shimmering green tapestry of the forest seen through red industrial glazing; the poignancy of an operating sash with its subtle gray insect screen floating in the window wall; the rippling profile of an aluminum corrugated roof.Responding to the cues and spirit of the landscape, the Forest House, in its simplicity of materials and form, is at once engaging and serene, elegant and comforting.

Like many 70s California ranches, this home had an unused front patio of aggregate slabs. Instead we created an outdoor living room that offers flexibility of use. One enters the home through this outdoor room swept in through the window-pane cherry-wood front door by the stamped concrete tile floor and serpentine black tile path. Recessed lighting and wall sconces create an indoor ambience outside. Photo by Mike Seidl
