Ad Photo Tips

As you select the photos for your pro directory ad or your photo stream ad, it's important to select images that are high-quality and relevant. Good quality images ensure that you maximize the number of quality leads you receive for your business.

The Houzz team reviews all ad photos to ensure that these standards are met. In order to receive ad photo approval, the image must:

  • Be a residential photo only — no commercial photos.
  • Meet minimum size requirements of 800 pixels height or width.
  • Be a good quality photo or rendering — no pixelated or blurry images with poor lighting, image distortion, or unrealistic renderings.
  • Show a room or space — no product, catalogue or showroom photos.
  • Show a finished, completed space — no before photos or construction photos. The space must be staged and presentable.
  • Be free of watermarks — no text, time stamps, graphics, borders or company logos directly on the image.
  • Be free of people, cars, or turned on devices (phones, computer, iPads with images on the screen). Animals are OK in professional photographs only.

If your ad photo does not meet one of these requirements, the Houzz team might reject it and request you use a different photo.
