This 1925 home originally had a roof over the front porch but past owners had it removed, the new owners wanted to bring back the original look while using modern rot proof material.
We started with Permacast structural 12" fluted columns, custom built a hidden gutter system, and trimmed everything out in a rot free material called Boral. The ceiling is a wood beaded ceiling painted in a traditional Richmond color and the railings are black aluminum. We topped it off with a metal copper painted hip style roof and decorated the box beam with some roman style fluted blocks.

Deck ProsThis large deck was built in Holmdel, NJ. The flooring is Ipe hardwood. The rail is Azek brand synthetic railing system.
The pergola is clear cedar that has been primed and painted. The columns are 10" square Permacast brand.
The high underside of the deck is covered with solid Ipe skirting. This blocks the view of the deck under-structure from people enjoying the lower paver patio.
Low voltage lights were added to the rail posts, in the pergola and in the stair risers. These lights add a nice ambiance to the deck, as well as safety.

GT Home Improvement & Design Inc.Customer asked me to design and fabricate a new covered entryway that matched the current front. The original side walk was cracked and sagging, so it was broken up and re-poured to support the new flagstone veneer. We used a metal roof to give it a clean look and contrast the asphalt roof on the rest of the house All of the trims are the best available from the Boral trim, Permacast columns, Firestone metal roofing to the 2" thick flagstone. we really tried to make this a maintenance free entryway
