The client wanted patio space for a chair so she could relax in the sun when the mood struck. The only spot in the yard with any sun is near the fence gate. A full-range New York Bluestone patio was added using 30” x 30” slabs. These slabs are dry-set so leveling was a challenge.

The more formal living room, known as the Southern gal's sitting room, is darling with its layers of color, velvet, brass and European pine. This corner of the French Retrohemian Chateau is approachable with a fun take on elegance. A baby grand piano sits in one corner for musical entertainment and family engagements. The blush pink ceiling and two french pocket doors enhance to the refined look.

Mary’s floor-through apartment was truly enchanting . . . except for the tiny kitchen she’d inherited. It lacked a dishwasher, counter space or any real storage, items that have all been addressed in the makeover. Now the kitchen is as cheerful and bright as the rest of the home.
