This bright, light-filled haven now replaces a dark, shotgun kitchen that doubled as a throughway to the back door. The owners called on us to enlarge, upgrade, brighten and otherwise totally transform their kitchen into the true heart of their home. They wanted a beautiful yet functional place for cooking, eating together and just hanging out. Our solution was to start from scratch. Our team designed and constructed a fresh, spacious addition and turned the dreary galley into a proper hallway, preserving the back door access. In the new space, a large, angled bay window brings in fresh air and as much natural light as possible, while providing a lovely nook for the family table. Finishing details include white cabinets, custom trim work and moldings, built-in wine storage, canned lighting and a lit display case.
