A railroad tie garden wall form part of this large two-tiered planter. That with the railroad tie & river rock walkways give an interesting rustic look. The oversize clay pots in gravel have grasses, cactus and succulents. In the background are various plants behind a rock border in mulch with drip irrigation.

This in-progress project has railroad tie planters at two different levels. There's hedge and other plants as well along with mulch.

From a railroad tie retaining wall one goes up to a large railroad tie planter. Then there's a series of concrete steps with a metal railing leading up to the concrete patio.

Railroad tie & gravel stepped-walkways and paver retaining walls is part of an incomplete project Drought-tolerant plants & mulch will be added to the drip irrigation that is partway set up.
