Inspiration for the kitchen draws from the client’s eclectic, cosmopolitan style and the industrial 1920s. There is a French gas range in Delft Blue by LaCanche and antiques which double as prep spaces and storage. Custom-made, ceiling mounted open shelving with steel frames and reclaimed wood are practical and show off favorite serve-ware. A small bank of lower cabinets house small appliances and large pots between the kitchen and mudroom. Light reflects off the paneled ceiling and Florence Broadhurst wallpaper at the far wall.

Reminiscent of a villa in south of France, this Old World yet still sophisticated home are what the client had dreamed of. The home was newly built to the client’s specifications. The wood tone kitchen cabinets are made of butternut wood, instantly warming the atmosphere. The perimeter and island cabinets are painted and captivating against the limestone counter tops. Created from several small rooms, this unfitted kitchen was designed to take advantage of an existing Juliet balcony overlooking expansive property with distant Ocean view. New Mahogany Dutch door leads to balcony, perfect for bird watching. Kitchen features white Shaker cabinetry, large contrast island, re-purposed antique china cabinet over sink, two stoves, Subzero refrigerator.

A British client requested an 'unfitted' look. Robinson Interiors was called in to help create a space that appeared built up over time, with vintage elements. For this kitchen reclaimed wood was used along with three distinctly different cabinet finishes (Stained Wood, Ivory, and Vintage Green), multiple hardware styles (Black, Bronze and Pewter) and two different backsplash tiles. We even used some freestanding furniture (A vintage French armoire) to give it that European cottage feel. A fantastic 'SubZero 48' Refrigerator, a British Racing Green Aga stove, the super cool Waterstone faucet with farmhouse sink all hep create a quirky, fun, and eclectic space! We also included a few distinctive architectural elements, like the Oculus Window Seat (part of a bump-out addition at one end of the space) and an awesome bronze compass inlaid into the newly installed hardwood floors. This bronze plaque marks a pivotal crosswalk central to the home's floor plan. Finally, the wonderful purple and green color scheme is super fun and definitely makes this kitchen feel like springtime all year round! Masterful use of Pantone's Color of the year, Ultra Violet, keeps this traditional cottage kitchen feeling fresh and updated.

Unfitted kitchen features: custom cabinetry, large wooden island, and re-purposed antique china cabinet. Custom tile hood with integrated vents, clad in Villeroy and Boch tiles. Subway tiles are handmade.

There is no shortage of color in this unfitted farmhouse kitchen. An interesting material palette including exposed dovetail joinery, marble subway tile and antique German stain glass add to the vertical visual interest throughout.
