I would darken trim colour to a darker grey, add some wider trim to outer edge of bay windows and paint front door in bolder colour. You have orange furniture in front, so I think a blue door would look nice. Paint door only, sidelight should be white.

Your home is adorable. I think what bothers me is the dark trim around the windows, particularly the bays. They seem so close to the front entry. I suggest painting the trim lighter.

Please don't demolish this adorable house! Perhaps a turquoise door, a colorful pot of flowers to the left of the door under the mailbox. I never like a "floating" door above the front stoop, but am not sure if that can be corrected.

Since the door is off center, I would move the light to the side, over the mailbox. It's adorable.

The darker trim tone around the front windows would be great on the fascial board in front until you do more fun stuff, and a bright front door will be delightful. What are the accent colors inside your home in the front room? Violet could be terrific given the bouganvillea or flowering plant I see behind the adirondack. Eventually, get a wider front door to fill the whole space - watch the architectural salvage for a solid historic kind of door in the right size (ideally with cottage paned window in it).

Thanks for the input everyone. First, we don't intend to demolish our house, just possibly the front entry "box" that was added by previous owners.
I am uploading a newer photo that reflects the changed out light fixtures and we also painted and moved the numbers. I would love to move the light to the side, but don't want to spend the money on an electrician in case we change the entire front facade.

The colors in the main room of the house are navy blue and gray, with a few red accents. I like the idea if painting the chairs and the door a fun pop color. Keep sending the ideas!

The mis-matched fascia and metal trim around the windows drive me crazy. Can you paint the metal trim? The roof and fascia will be replaced in the near future.

Thank you so much! I mixed Real Red by Sherwin Williams #6868 and added some Rustoleum exterior paint pre made...."Sunrise Red" is a good one to try...I just mixed together until I got the color I loved...Good luck!

Another area to add a pop of color that matches the door is the the inside lip of the windows. Like in this pic.

Red-orange would be great with your trim tones - ben moore fiesta is a good one to test. Rather than demo the box, cut windows into the sides and add muntins in big crosses - it will bring more light into your house but be fairly private.

Lots of great ideas! One thing I think would bring a little more life to the front is to do perennial plants in the two areas under the windows. Easy things are Black Eyed Susans (tall, brilliant gold, great with oranges and blues) and catmint (lower growing, but pretty billowing habit, generally blooms twice with a sort of periwinkle blue.) I love the teeny chair.

If the door were centered I would love the house as is. Put the porch on the back for privacy. Most front porches never get sat on.

I don't thing calling more attention to the off center door is a good idea.

It might be less expensive to balance the opening and have a double door front entrance. Both can be opened for moving large objects but the right one is the normally used one.

After you paint the for, why not add a few flowering bushes on the far side of each window. Something that would grow to about 4 feet. That would soften the edges.

Final update. We replaced the front door, painted the trim, and put on a Slate roof. Then we sold the house (within 4 weeks). Thanks to all for the advice!
