I really appreciate the response. I am trying to avoid buying products manufactured in China (having had too many problems before - PVC, drywall, etc...) I ended up biting the bullet and I am having our amazing finish carpenter design/build one that will fit.

As a company, we avoid Chinese-manufactured products as well; however, although RonBow components are manufactured in China, they are assembled here in the US, providing jobs here and response on any warranty issues has always been immediate, with replacement product or components sent out from their CA warehouse immediately. We've been doing business with RonBow since 2005 and can genuinely say we have no complaints with their quality or service. In face, our clients love the product.

I believe you, and thanks for the response. I don't avoid ALL Chinese products - it just takes a lot more work to see if I think that particular product is quality - some day I assume this will be easier as overall quality improves, it's just taking far more long than I originally anticipated.

Your diligence will likely pay off. Too often people choose products based on aesthetics alone and forget that quality will be more likely ensure enduring aesthetic and functional beauty, which is always worth the investment. Best of luck to you!

I'm getting more skeptical about China, too many products are coming in that have proved to be poisonous. Are they using solid would or particle board with formaldehyde?

Solid wood, but I'm not sure about their stains and lacquer finishes.
