Need help with if this rug works for my bedroom

I am looking for a great rug at a great price( under $400) for my bedroom. I looooove my duvet and believe my design style is transitional. I like color and when I am ready will add it in pillows and art but I want a pretty and neutral rug.
Help? Does this rug go? Advice needed....
PS- bed is half made up so you could see what I am trying to compliment.

Somehow I think that it is fighting with the bedding.

I do wish I didn't have carpet in the bedroom but it's a cost saver we have to live with. On the other hand....My husband wants a red or orange and I am not sure about that but I just want something that would make me smile so maybe this is too neutral and not adding value.
Thanks for the different thought it's helping me through this!

I think rugs that are added are suppose to make you smile, so that is what you need to look for.

I agree with your husband and think that orange should be in all room. LOL

You may also want it partly under your bed so it does not look like a dance floor. Maybe that made you smile, too! LOL

You want us to find some rugs that you might like to satisfy the hubs.

Your husband is suggesting quite bold colors......good for him!!

Instead of a rug, I would suggest more color or graphics in the drapes and a nice bench at the end of the bed.

This is the soda that's going in...in either gray or cream...I know I can't get away from neutrals...

Others rooms in my house...so I want to stay away from blues and maybe even orange. I have them all over...

You do have a lot of blue, but it sure is pretty! Nice decorating in your home!

Maybe it's the lighting, but it seems like the carpet is pinky- beige and the duvet is gray-beige. The rug is not quite either. Can't tell what beige the curtains are? But all those fighting beiges seem to compete with the greenish gold walls. Like I said, it may be lighting. That being said, if the carpet doesn't really make the room, why bother. Maybe let it be until you have the other pieces all in the room and then find a great colored rug to make the room pop. Possibly to complement a large piece of artwork. Your bed is beautiful and it would be a shame to invest in a ho- hum rug.

No that rug does not do anything for your room! I think the Grey sofa idea will look fabulous! What color are the pillows on bed? Dark grey or a Black?

My bedroom suite and colour scheme is pretty similar to yours. Would you consider a black and white damask rug? As for the sofa at the end of the bed, you can accessorize it with cushions and throws. Apart from opting for colourful ones, you can also go for different textures and pattern.

Why do you need a rug? What purpose is it serving at the end of your bed?
It's a large room and the bed has such a large space in front of it so my goal is add coziness and a sitting space with a sofa, rug and table in front of the bed.

That is a good plan. I like the first rug. While not overly colorful, it adds contrast. I love the rooms you've done, so I'm sure it will all come together

I would suggest getting the sitting room furniture before the rug. Current rug looks to big for this concept.

Would you care to repeat the pattern in your pillows and carry it to the floor with a rug?
Agree with Abby, rug doesn't work for a lot of reasons.

Well ladies I have the sofa...rug is going back. I decided to go with cream sofa over gray.

Here's an idea that might suit your colour palette
different patterns with same colour tone for the rug, bedding and accent pieces with an additional touch of colour.
