@ dinogomez Would you be so kind as to post a pic? Our architect specified 8" base board w/ 3/4" reveal; we suggested 6" base board and 1/2" reveal (and even then I am thinking 3/8" reveal might be better) so it would be great to see the 1/4" reveal.

We are still midway in construction process, right now it's prepared for the base install, drywall cut & mudded over reglet. One suggestion is to cut out or mark-up desired height on the wall, we initially wanted a 4" base, but once we cut it realized it was going to be too short (note we started this not from a new construction where this is typically prepped for well ahead of time). The size of the reveal is also to the eye of the beholder, one suggestion is to call a drywall store, and order some of the reglet, it comes in 5' lengths & order a few in the different sizes (note you will most likely always have a 1/2" depth since this is standard drywall thickness, and the reveal gap is your choice (1/4", 3/8", 1/2", etc).

For our 2015 build and after many mock-ups, we went with an 8" base and 1" reveal. We are pleased with the balance of proportions and ease of cleaning.
