Console Table

What can I do above the wall and on the table. This table is in front of my dining room . My style is modern glam.

Center it. Add a glam large mirror above and then accessorize. I don't see electrical outlets for lamps so be creative with the things you like; i.e., a plate on a stand, a few books, vase with flowers, etc. Good luck with your project.

Can you share your colour scheme in this space and in surrounding rooms?

I see one centred power source under the table. See stool suggestions for under the table (and to hide the table lamp cords)

I love the mirror look . I am just worried the mirror will be to much with the mirror console.

My dining room is open and is across from this wall. My colors are gray and accent of yellow. Style is modern glam .....

I am going to paint the wall gray like the dining room. This is the dining room below......maybe .... Need some input on that.

Thanks everyone for your help !

If the wall is going gray as in the dining, go then for a gold mirror as per ideabook. Even a white mirror would look lovely. See inspiration ideas:

Chemayne, can you please tell me where and how to find inspiration ideas on houzz. when I do a search, I don't get specific pictures like the ones that you have found.

Open another tab of houzz, click in the search box "mirror console table" - enter.

I think the suggestion to wallpaper is a great idea but choose a deep grey grasscloth (shade darker than dining) will shout glam..

Looking at your colour scheme I have changed my mind on the earlier mirror suggestions as they tend to look "boudoir-ish".

What picture do you guys like ?
Maybe a mirror will be better
Of the two, I like the first one better.
I like the first one -- but the size is a little bit too small. I would try to find a piece that is almost as long as the table.
I really like this look: Notice in the background the mirrored chest topped with a glam mirror, all set off against a dark wallpaper:

What about a mirror? I just can find a nice piece of art . I really want a cityscape art.

I like the first piece of art - it picks up the colors in your placemats. I would add pieces on the table that pick up the accent color and visually make the composition fill more of the wall.

Thanks for putting the pictures on the wall. What program do you use for that? Please share.....

I love this mirror from the zgallerie.

I found a new picture at the zgallerie . Could you work your magic and give me a visual ? I purchased the mirror from last week. Not sure if I should put it behind by bench or console table . Please help!

you could switch the console with the bench and place a tall floor mirror as seen in the ref pic.
A hanging chandelier reflection in the mirror would add the wow factor to the mod glam
  • 12 years ago
I don't know that this will be any help to you, Chris. I had to guesstimate the size. The art looks good both places. I think you're making yourself crazy over this. I say, make an arrangement with what you have--mirrors, art, vases--then leave it be for a bit. One day you'll be looking at it and you'll know exactly how you want it to look. Or you'll run across a mirror or canvas or sculpture and it will say very clearly, "I belong on your console table. Buy me now!"
    I like Grover's suggestion.
    there's no rush.
    Everything will evolve eventually!
Agree, no rush. But I do like the idea of switching the console table and bench. Seems it would make sense there: more seating for people during a gathering.
What do you guys think? Which one looks better?
    last modified: 12 years ago
I like the gal. But I think it needs to be with the bench. Can you bring it around?
I find the bridge art compelling with the mirrored console, but I think it needs a touch of color.
    Oh, that is much better!
I think it looks too stark.
    needs to be lightened up.
maybe a pic/s with a black frame and a white matting would look better against the grey wall
  • 12 years ago
This would be a simple fix: great wallpaper, extra large mirror and a few accessories.
