Tie between lake and ocean. I like feeling like Im on the edge of the world at the ocean. Lake homes have an enchanting and relaxing quality that makes it so desirable to me.

I currently live between a big lake,

and a bigger lake.

Next I think I will try a river.

I live by a pond and a creek, but I'd like something bigger. I love the ocean but fear hurricanes, so a beautiful lake or river sounds nice as long as I'm up high enough so flooding isn't an issue.

Technically we live on a river (Severn River) but it doesn't "flow" as one would normally think as it's in the Chesapeake Bay tidal area. Certainly NOT a pool. We have a fish pond in the front yard and it's the biggest headache I have.

Ocean by far - Waves crashing against the shore/ or lapping and the salt water in the air -Heaven!

I grew up on a lake (MN -land of 10,000 lakes) and miss not living on one now. The ocean is too powerful and scares me and I don't think i could get used to the noise of the waves. I like the peace and tranquility of a midsize to small lake.....plus I could go fishing anytime I wanted.

Ocean…I live near the Arabian Gulf and it's so beautiful. You can keep the Atlantic Ocean…too cold for me!!

I'll take the Atlantic and my freedom.

A lake is my choice. oceans means hurricanes...no thanks.

We love living on the lake...so peaceful!

I've lived in Colorado almost all my life and though I love it here, I'd love to experience living near the ocean. I do love the feel, smell and sound of the ocean.

The S. Cal. Ocean would be great but, I also assumed "you can afford" was in the Question so I said, "POOL."

I chose "none of the above", because I love the Baltic SEA :)

Love being near the ocean, but prefer the pool for swimming :)

There is a sense of infinity if you live near the ocean. We have a beach facing the Pacific Ocean with 2 small islands........heaven!

To swim in, pool....to live on....ocean or lake

A creek would be my ideal. My husband wanted sea views. We now have both albeit the sea view looks like a lake as it is an inlet.
Oh, yes and we have a natural pond that had been created eons ago that gets water from the creek.
Sigh. What more could a girl want.

I have lived on a farm with a creek and on a lake. I loved both and miss living near water. I guess I would choose a lake - more options for canoeing, boating and no hurricanes for this girl. :)

We live at the lake, some days it is like the ocean so we have the best of both! Lake Erie is a big lake so it acts like the ocean with large swells some days but we love that it is fresh water. Nothing better than falling asleep with the waves rolling in!

The water on a lake is so peaceful. Of course a pool would still be a nice amenity.

The sound, sight and smell of the ocean is very relaxing.
