Wood floor?

What is the floor? Looks like wood but contractor is telling me not to put wood flooring in kitchen?

I like the larger wood on the border of the stave wall cabinets; it adds interest.

Hi! Most of our clients put wood in their kitchen. Its much easier on your feet than tile and helps to keep the flow of the home consistent.
