Paint paint and more paint!

Ok people. I need help. I can't seem to make up my mind about which grey looks best with our slate floors. Please let me know what you think! Thank you so much!

I just paid for a paint consultation to help me pick a warmer gray for our entire house. Your best grays are going to be Amazing Gray, Mindful Gray, Colonnade Gray.

We are leaning toward Colonnade Gray. Other nice neutral grays are Agreeable Gray and Repose. Go to your local Sherman Williams and purchase paint sample pots. Or you can pay 75.00 for their color consult. Well worth it, the consult was 2 hours and they help you select the right paint colors and will create an entire scheme for you and your house if needed. Plus you get a 50.00 dollar gift card toward the paint. So the consult is really 15.00 bucks. A great deal and loads of money saved vs going with the wrong color.

There must be over 100 shades of gray out there- who says it's only 50?

You definitely need a warm gray with no blue in it to go with your slate flooring. I suggest you consider Sherwin-Williams Intellectual Gray or Amazing Gray.

I had the same dilemma. I found that it's very hard to get the right grey because there are so many variations. Some have more beige or taupe undertones, which looked terrible with our slate & glass kitchen back splash. I finally gave up & painted our kitchen walls a soft grayish blue. It really complimented the slate. I you still want grey I would take a floor sample to a paint store like Sherwin Williams, that does a computer match for the right grey.

Thank you. I like the look of intellectual gray and I've been having a hard time finding a grey with no blue undertone..it's harder than expected!

Ps the top left is SW mindful gray and as of right now I'm leaning toward this one

I agree with the grey. It goes well with the slate.

You will get a more accurate view of the wall color if you paint it on boards. The surrounding colors and base color throw everything off. I agree with Carolyn, Intellectual gray is a good color (it's the color I used on my exterior). You could also check out BM Revere Pewter, it's a warm neutral gray. The trick is not to try to match the slate exactly, but compliment it.

Love the idea of gray in a room! I would say a little bit lighter than the darkest gray you have on the picture,
Too dark can be a little too depressing...

Erin, it is nearly impossible to suggest a color from afar and from looking at a space on a monitor screen. We don’t really have a good shot of your flooring so can’t assess that color correctly. The grays on your wall are all ready blue and slightly purple. Not a bad thing if that’s what your going for. If you want less of that I would try SW amazing gray or the lighter version worldly gray. Repose gray is a good , light neutral gray but may go a slight blue in your room.
