The bedspread probably from Chiapas Mexico (I have one) since it is a Mexican home.

No. They are Guatemalan textiles on the big bedspread: made guipiles (blouse),the purple is from Chichicastenango, Quiche, Guatemala, the pink and yellow -two of them, is from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.

Liliana, if you have a bedspread like that one, it would be interesting to identify the provenance of the textiles. It is very common that decorators use Guatemalan textiles for Mexican houses.

I bought my bedspread at a "Coperativa artesanal" right next to the cathedral in San Cristobál, Chiapas. It´s run by women that represent several indigenous groups from the area. Each huipil (written with h but pronounced like g") is representative of their community. However since Chiapas is close to the border with Guatemala sometimes you do end up buying textiles from Guatemala thinking they are Mexican. If you ever visit Chiapas please visit this store you would love it!

I just had to comment....I have been lucky enough to see this house in person and it is truly a modern mansion in Pulmo N. Completely handicapped equipped. The pic's do not do this house the justice it deserves. It is sitting in a very rural area .....its a must see in person. With any luck I may be spending my retirement next to it. :)J. Skillman
