The light area of the rug looks beige-ier, and the white designs on the chair are a cooler white, it looks like on my computer. So I say "no" based on that.

I would say no. The patterns do work well together but there is little to no difference in scale. They fight each other.

I don't have a strong reaction to it one way or the other, but for what it's worth: the dark wood on the chair legs ties it in with what looks like the leather furniture. The lighter print on the chair is close to the lighter color in the rug, so that works well, too I think. What might make it more cohesive is to add more of the putty-color of the background of the chair in other places in the room, and it may take more than a few pillows on the sofa, I don't know. I haven't had much success with throws on the arm of the sofa as an accent -- the dogs like to dig and make a nest in them and my granddaughter likes to use them as a princess cape. I would use the blue pillow elsewhere -- in the photo, there is no other blue shown. The other thing to consider is the size of the chair relative to the other furniture.

No, it's a near miss...like you tried to match but didn't. The "gray" of the chair looks pinkish when compared to the gray in the rug. Either go with a different color for the rug or have the chair recovered.

I'd rather see you go with something competely different on the chair. You realize this isn't the right look or you wouldn't be asking.

A fabric something like this for the chair might be better than the two similar patterns you now have..

I don't like the chair... the scale and color are wrong.
