I often use vaases as decor with nothing in them but in your cast I would want something with a little more color, these just blend into the table and chairs. How about some beautiful crystal to go with the chadalier or the tuquoise in the chair fabric

Like the vases, but not with the chandy. I too would like to see crystal...maybe several candlesticks in different sizes?

Thank you for your input. What do you think, if I add silk flowers with a color from the chairs, to the vase, would that help? Or am I understanding correctly that the color of the vase is all wrong?

I would break my "no silk flowers rule" so that I won't have to return the vases to the store...

The vases do match the room decor, but I am just wondering if there is another place for them in the room or an adjacent room? I agree with Patricia...some crystal or turquoise on the table would be nice.

The vases look nice on your mantle. Whatever you are considering for the dining table, you just need to have the right proportions/quantity and sizes for your length of table.

Yes, they look perfect for the mantle, they really compliment the tile surround.

I think they look better on the table than on the mantle. They reflect beautifully on the table. Crystal on the table would be too matchy with the chandelier.

Your rooms look wonderfully clean with simple lines to me. If keeping them on the table, place them closer together in the center and add one more item to make a grouping of 3. You won't need any silk/faux florals. If placing them on the mantle, their placement will look just fine as shown in your photo if you add in a couple more things lower items next to each vase to complete the vignette. You might consider changing out the art over the mantle to something a bit more contemporary and somewhat larger. Have you ever positioning an art print vertically rather than horizontally over the mantle? That might give you a really cool look with those vases.

Lots of possibilities. "Play" around with things you already have, or buy some things to try, until you get a look that pleases you. :-)

I agree completely with the comment from Connie N. Designs. If you want to leave them on the mantel, they just need some additions so they don't look like 2 soldiers guarding your picture. You have a lovely home. Off topic, but wondering where you purchased the 2 small chairs next to the fireplace. I would love to find a couple of chairs just that size. Thank you so much for all the comments and suggestions. The chairs were from Havertys. What do you think about putting a mirror in the place of the art over the mantel? There is a ceiling fan in that room that might be reflected in the mirror. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the chair info. I think you could go with art that is a bit bigger over the mantel. I really wouldn't want to see the reflection of a ceiling fan in a mirror.

One last question. What do you think about painting the inside wall above the fireplace with a color from the accent colors and then do the same color on the one wall of the dining room? When you enter the house you will see both walls simultaneously.
