I have a house made of narrow beaded boards horizonal on all of the walls and on the ceiling. It is too much for me. Most of the beaded board wall pictures I've seen are vertical. Would it be okay to just use a couple of adjoining walls in each room with the horizonal boards and put sheetrock on the other walls and ceiling? or should be go with a wider board on the ceiling as you have here?

I would definitely put a wider plank such as this on the ceilings versus drywall! Look into ship lap...Another idea would be to paint the existing ceilings a light color, either gray or light blue. The horizontal bead board is an old time classic that if all painted alike gives a great back round to any style décor...go ultra modern or contemporary with it! Enjoy!
