What to fill a red wall with

Hi I can't change the space that i have to work with in the attached pictures. The wall looks very orange in the pictures but it is in fact quite a deep red. The lights are in yet so the place looks a little darker than it will, but nonetheless the red wall does make this small space dark. I can't change the red wall so I was wondering if any body had some ideas for me as to how to liven it up. It is a deli-to-be and the original idea was to put two blackboards up on the red wall in the 'dining space'. I feel that that can be done but that there needs to be something more. The name of the Deli is 'graze @ excelsior'. Maybe do something interesting with the name on the wall?

A smaller problem is the grey white wall behind what will be the till counter. It is a dry wall so I can't put a shelf up. Probably only a picture...

Any inspiration will be appreciated.

If you do go with the photo idea, just don't use itty-bitty photos that people cannot see from afar. Whatever wall decor you decide on, it should be large.

You can have removable custom graphics made at sign store with any motif. I'll try to find some pics for u!

What about a series of large art posters framed in black on the red wall? on the gray wall...maybe a blackboard with daily specials. its a cute space. Good luck!!

Hi the name is 'graze @ excelsior'. It is situated on a wine farm. It will be doing predominantly sandwiches (as far as is possible fillings will be local in season produce) and the buns of which will be cooked in a pizza oven. I have attached a picture of the wine label.

I don't have many pictures on the pc at the moment but can get more of the setting if you would like me to.

The deli is situated to the right of the structure on the water (a tasting room) and is exactly where the first tree on the right is/ was.

Unfortunately not very much. It would depend what it was but in terms of spending on the walls max of $500, unless there was a piece of valuable art thrown into the mix.

How about a photo gallery wall. It could include closeup pictures of some of the local produce and ingredients you use. Blow up the photos large to fill the wall.

Great! I think it would give the feeling of "straight from the farm to the table." Even if you can't find something, maybe there is a photographer in your area whom would do something like that in exchange for some recognition.

Good idea. What would you do with regards to framing. Would you or wouldn't you? I thought that I should probably try to bring in a bit of the grey from the kitchen side onto the 'dining side' of the room.

If some of the items in your photos are going to be used, they have a sort of rustic/retro style, you could frame in some old wood that's weathered with a grey patina, like barn wood.

You could use a black-and-white chequered wall panelling to add brightness and light to the wall!

Custom r problerly out of your budget. Marlene's idea of using photo's is a very viable on that budget. Since your going with the horse theme how about a large panoramic of horses gracing in your fields for the red wall. Use another large pic w/ a horse on the gray wall. Hatetoshop is right go large! The photographer that too the pics that you posted may have some pics that u can choose from. Plexaglass mountings r usually less expensive than using frames plus it's a cleaner look. Use could also have the work mounted on boards & backlite.

For areas that smaller items would work consider putting bridles, etc in shadow boxes. There r proberly some items that you can reuse from the horse barn for free.

If these options r above your budget consider hanging artwork for sale from local artist. By the way I think it's great that u went w "Graze" & the horse theme it will help set u apart. Good luck!

Find vintage memorabilia that relates to food, deli's etc. this could be unique and fun.
