    The walls are bare studs, the exterior cladding is a hand-dipped cedar shingle

    In denmark we mostly use oak for exterior cladding and roof. I suppose this is Red Cedar right?

    The shingles are Eastern White Cedar, and are hand-dipped in Australian Timber Oil by Cabot, attached is a photo of the lengthy process of hand-dipping the shingles. I would expect that these shingles would last a long time in both of our climates.
