Your room looks cute so far. Perhaps you should have side panels, upholstered cornices serve a very specific purpose and I see no reason to have them in this room. It will surely ruin the room.

I think that a cornice can look very dated, very fast. I think side panels and a beautiful rod like the above comments suggest is the right call.

gray & walter, Ltd and lefty47 I would love to do panels, but there is not enough wall space on either side of the window and I don't want the panels to sit on the window, because the single door and single window is the only natural light in that room.. I had a decorator at my house and a cornice or box pleat is what she suggested. I'm not a fan of box pleats.

HI - Then the blinds that look like shutter slats is the answer --- Hunterdouglas.com --- plantation shutters look nice but block out too much light . Could we have a wider shot of the room , that would help a little more ... Thanks

lefty47, I have a silver silhouette on that window that I just bought, I was just looking to add some warmth or color to the room.

HI -- Diane -- I saw what I thought looked like quality blinds there. Just looked at your ideabook and you have saved some real nice ideas .. I think just some relaxed romans in a pretty fabric or a semi -sheer with texture or something like that would get you the look you want . Maybe hung from higher above the window and a little wider than the frame . What do you think ??

lefty47, by romans, do you mean a roman valance, because I don't want to cover up the sheer silhouette and I definitely want a pretty fabric and something with texture.

HI -- Well I guess it would be like a valance but not actually . More of a non - functioning roman but that just hangs softly over above and just covering the top of the window . Maybe with some small silk tassel trim on the bottom edge . There are several in your ideabook under the window coverings .

What would you suggest how to frame these windows? There are silhouettes on them right now which I want to keep.
