Love the floors and the island countertop. Could you share the floor stain and is it red or white oak? What is the island countertop? Love the whole design!

Thank you so much for your comments and the questions. This was a fun project to do!
The floor is 4" red oak, stained with Minwax Ebony. The granite on the island is called White Typhoon.

I really like how the floor turned out. The ebony stain isnt as dark with one coat as everything thinks it will be. Minwax code for their ebony is 2718 BTW.

Can you tell how the flooring company accomplished not making the floors darker....
the longer the stain is left on, the darker it becomes...did they wipe the stain after a short time after applying?
...or did they do anothet stain first (golden oak ?), then ebony, wiped?

Yes, I believe the floors were water-popped on this house.

As for the method, I'm not certain. The floors are stained and finished by the builder's subcontractor. I specified the finish, which was Ebony by Minwax. To get the deeper color, the floors were likely water-popped. This opens the grain in the wood so that more stain soaks in and deepens the color.
