Seal limestone?

We are constructing limestone slab steps and patio similar to yours. We will be laying limestone on top of concrete. Did you seal your limestone? If so with what? Also curious what kind of grout or mortar you used.
I am a little concerned about water getting underneath limestone in the concrete freezing and thawing. Thank you for all of your help!

These stone steps have not been sealed. We prefer to let the elements weather the stone without having it sealed. Since the joints were so tight, we used a tile grout opposed to mortar. I do not recall the exact color....
