Is the first photo the look you are trying to achieve?

I recommend wheat as the paint color. It's a nice neutral. I used it in my new sunroom and remodeled kitchen. It has a feeling of yellow but isn't actually yellow.

A grey-blue will work well as well again, more neutral then a matching blue but is lovely with browns. This pix is from a previous home.

I think Christi's suggestion is ideal for an elegant and sophisticated room, plus it promotes calm.

Love Chrisit's Sleepy Blue. You could also think about a soft eggplant color if you wanted a different mood.

Thanks Chisti and everyone for all your great advice. I really appreciate it. I may use that grey in my bathroom. I'm gathering all your ideas so when I close on 8/13/14 I'll be ready to hire the painter the same day and get it painted in the same week by a great team of painters! Well shoot. I can't seem to find out how to buy this duvet comforter now. I thought it was from an online site but can't seem to find the page to order it. :-( anyone else able to figure it out? Maybe it just won't work from my cell phone. :-(

I couldn't find anything similar, but I found a similar feel. White bedding, add pillows. I might use a throw for the yellow. Just a thought.

It looks like Janet Reger Zebina Duvet may have been discontinued. I couldn't find it available on any of the UK store sites. One said discontinued, one had on,y a single bed cover, another said out of stock.

As the saying goes, this or something better. Now that you know what appeals to you it will be easier to find something else. And once you have bedding in hand it will be easier to decide on your paint color.
