What to combine with Terrazzo?

I have a bedroom in my 1957 ranch that is half terrazzo and half concrete (there was an addition to the room) and both are under really awful vinyl tile. The room is 11 feet x 23 feet, with a sliding glass door in the end that has the concrete. I'd like to restore the terrazzo, but what should I combine with it over the concrete? I don't intend to add more terrazzo, and the space will open onto a paver patio with access to a pool, so an easy care surface is ideal. I have considered having the concrete dyed; that way if there are any areas that are uneven, I can have it patched and then stain the whole thing. What else would you guys consider? I'd prefer to not have to have an uneven surface or step up (as would be needed if I installed any kind of tile that needs a subfloor.) What do you suggest?

So the terrazzo and concrete are currently flush? Then I think your best solution will be to grind down the concrete enough so you can apply new terrazzo to match the existing as best you can and keep the whole floor level and flush. Or choose a completely different flooring material for everywhere. I just don't see any way that a two-flooring solution is going to look like anything but a desperate kluge.

Thank you for those links; they were very useful. Some of the designs gave me an idea on how I might transition without it looking strange. And I really appreciated seeing the progress of the actual restoration. I'll be sure to update as this project continues.
