Grout color for pebble tile

I have a white pebble tile and not sure if I should use a grout that matches as closely as possible, a lighter white tone, or a slightly beige tone. You have two tones of pebble tile here....what is the rule of thumb for grout color with white pebble tile?

Thanks for the feedback - we were looking at an off white which is slightly lighter and a slightly tan color which is darker...but I had not thought to wet the stones!! Clearly matchy matchy is not a good idea with the pebble tile and grout.

The above comments are generally correct! Most of the time when going with a pebble tile you want to at least slightly contrast the stones with the grout so that the individual stones stand out and "pop". Making everything blend perfectly kind of eliminates the point of using such a unique, natural surface!

Lighter white tone is the best selection.

Did anyone respond? What did you end up doing?

deb624 what did you end up going with. I have the same pebble rock and don't know which grout to use.

Hi a Robin. Did you choose a grout color? Also, curious where your pebble rock came from. I'm looking for something just like it. Thanks! Denise

I also would love to hear some opinions on grout color! It looks like my pebble tiles are similar to deb624's, except that mine have a little more tannish beige tones. You can see in my photo how there is a stripe near the middle that I got wet. I expect the stones to be that color by the time the sealer goes on. I need to buy my grout in a few more days.

Denise, if you like the pebble tile that I have, I got it at Lowe's. It is called Sunset Impressions and it is only $12 a square foot. I also saw several Pebble tile colors similar to Deb's at Floor and Decor.

The exact tile I just had put on my shower floor! The wet stripe looks more yellowish in the photo. Is that what it looks like?

Here is another photo in different light, and it is not as yellow. This time the photo looks just like the tile.

Teresa, I’m considering this tile in my walk in shower. What color grout did you go with? Here is what I’m thinking for my bathroom
