Nice art work! How about a few delicate cherry blossoms? That's what it makes me think of!

Just make sure it looks like branches and not cracks in the wall !!
How about a cardinal on one of those branches ?
And now you can pin ornaments to it come holiday season!
I'm hoping $ grows on it

Ditch the headboard! Love the tree but the bold verticals of the headboard are competing with it making it look like you are not sure whether you want art on your walls or a headboard.
Be brave! And PLEASE don't get cutesy and put cherry blossoms, birds or God Forbid, Christmas ornaments on it. We have nothing against funky fun aesthetics but this is not your aesthetic in your room. Keep it clean.
If anything look at Genevieve's comment and add more trees. perhaps more intricate ones.
    Peace,

I agree the headboard detracts. How about a headboard that's more delicate so as to reinforce the aesthetic?

Once my shams and pillows are on the bed , the headboard doesn't show except for the top bar

Any headboard is going to interfere with the "growing tree". If there's no foot board, then turn the bed around. Stack pillows vertically 2 or 3 high, bed sized pillows in nice shams, and perhaps add a throw or a couple small throw pillows.
Look at our latest tree bark themed small pillows here.

I like the tree, but in the other pic with the pillows, there is another tree, on the other wall, that matches. That makes sense, design-wise. Can you paint another tree anywhere else in the room so it looks like it belongs a little more? Repetition is a great design concept.

jmvman -- I like the headboard. It gives the impression that the tree is in the background, perhaps at a distance. The photo of the designer home that Genevieve posted also shows beautiful tree art similar to yours and they have a headboard that gives the same abstract impression. If you paint trees for other people, your trees would grow $. ;)

    Nice thought, however.......
I live in Florida which is famous for mirrored walls. Which I have on the opposite wall and reflects the tree. Another wall consists of sliders that open to a balcony. Enough of the fun

I've been wanting to try that! Nice job! :)

Really like this idea. But I think the headboard should look like a hillside or just a peaceful horizon - the current one detracts mostly because it is not solid. And I agree, NO birds...unless it's a kids room.
Paint headboard silver...then get small mirrors with silver chains and hang from branches. :)

I was in a hotel in Hong Kong. The wallpaper had tree branches similar to yours. On one of the slender twigs sat a golden ceramic bird (glued to the wall.) It was a magical room.

'bob2lily' That reminds me of my first Mural. Painted the design from the fabrics used. I also glued a bird, bird's nest with eggs and a bee hive, up high on a branch to keep away from the little one's hands.

LB , isn't that the sweetest mural?! So sweet! What a lucky little one's nursery. Love Pooh! Wonderful work LB!

No offense directed to anyone suggesting birds but I cannot help to think of the show Portlandia segment "Put a Bird on it..." It just tickles me when I hear people tell me to put a bird up in the sky flying or in the tree. Funny, how that has left such an impression. Now, I think I'm ready to paint a bird too. .

Thanks Sheri Wilson Fine Art. I looked at your profile. Your art is beautiful!!! I enjoyed the postings.

With the change of each season, place leaves on the tree to coincide with that!
It's fine, headboard is like a picket fence. Wood headboard works! Add a color pillow & throw to bed for color!
I commend you for goin' for it! Perhaps a little more off center sweeping across the bed would have made a stronger statement. Keep paintin'!

As suggested from 'happyleg', at least two bed pillows, and a few decorative pillows will feel cozy and inviting. Good job! Glad to see people try their ideas!

Thanks again jmvman - your tree has created a very titillating conversation not to mention creative sparks.
Lorraine, I enjoyed visiting your web site + canvas wall furnishings and designs. It is refreshing to have an interior designer with a personal touch in mind; keeping in mind the client's personal interests with professional consultations.

By adding little framed pictures you can turn it into a family tree

Need some color to your tree. Like this wall paper & change the head board. By the look of your branches, it looks like an Asian tree. If it isn't, then add leaves.
