Can a person get a murphy bed as a individual unit? I live in an apt. and need the room and things (the this bed) cannot be nailed or fastened to a wall..

    I bought a Murphy Bed mechanism to put in my closet. It was only $345.00 You can also buy one and make your own cabinet to go around it. http://www.murphybedsdirect.com

    How comfortable are these? How good a mattress can you use? Can you put a really good mattress in these units or are you stuck with whatever they send?

    My rental has a Murphy bed and the Backcare mattress is super comfortable even without a boxspring.
