The darker the solar shade the better you see through it so if you want to keep the view go gray. Are you getting 2 types of blinds because blackout and solar are very different.

Blackout shades will make the room completely dark and black almost 100% of the light, Solar shades typically come in different percentage factors of how much light comes through. The color is really going to depend upon what your purpose of shades is. If you want to see out- go grey, If you want to block more light and not see out as well - go white. White reflects the sun.

I tend to prefer the way light comes through white solar shades over the gray.

I like the way the view is not so obscure with gray.

Do you think light grey is better than white? i am so torn, i like the grey but my colonial white windows and trim and throwing me.
