Microwave Placement

I moved to a new house recently and need help to figure out where to keep microwave. There is space next to cooking stove and sink. I have placed next to sink currently but since the sink is not deep when i wash drops of water splatters on microwave. Is it safe to keep next to cooking stove so that the door open towards the sink? Feedback is much appreciated.

I would hate for you to give up counter space for a microwave. Can you add more pics of the rest of the kitchen.

Whirlpool makes a very compact corner counter microwave that is available online through HD, Lowe's and others.

A small built in would work great if you don't mind giving up some storage space. Maybe you could extent the right side of the kitchen?

low budget: put a plank halfway next to your island so the top of your microwave is flush with the top of the counter.
more expensive: create a built-in cabinet for the microwave next to your island and extend the countertop.

Most inexpensive and least disruptive to your kitchen would be to bring in a cart ( if you have room ) I would choose one that is more contemporary looking to compliment your kitchen style. These two were found on the thefind.com and wayfair.com
