Bottom of frame should be approximately where the horizontal line above the door handle is and yes, centered on the wall. I would only hang art there if I actually close the door to that room on a regular basis. I would also put a door stop in so that the handle cannot put a dent in the wall if someone opens the door too hard.

Thank you for your quick reply and especially your input about how high the pic should be on the wall. And yes I do have a door stop for that door.

You could off center to the line where the door opens to it is quite an area & wouldn't want door to damage artwork

Center on wall and put the paintings center point at your eye level
