I'm in the same boat. I want dark cabinets and ideally black granite countertop but am at a loss on the flooring? I love hardwood in the kitchen and lean towards a darker stain. I've seen dark cabinets with darker floors that look great but they all used a lighter counter. I'm thinking I may have to choose between dark floors or dark countertop. Any ideas from anyone??

The new colors in quartz are awesome. I'm leaning towars a light background with swirls of browns and blacks. I'm also looking at a pop of color in it.

Why not go with gray cabinets with the dark floor and cararra marble for the counter very classic look without going white.

Have you explored the "whites" section of paint stores lately? They've managed to create a "white" (to me, NOT white) for every color of the rainbow, so you could pick a lighter hue of anything that you like.

Personally I love the look of white, off-white, or cream cabinets with dark floors, but you can choose greys, beiges, taupes, even blues, pinks, greens, purples. The key is to create some contrast so that you have some light against the dark elements you've chosen and to select colors that work with the wood tones you've selected.

Bring home some paint chips and check them out in your lighting - and in the meantime, do searches on Houzz and Pinterest for dark floors. There's plenty of inspiration.

To go with the dark floors, I would choose something light to keep it from being heavy. A gray or taupe would look really nice.
