I don't know about too modern. Tin roofs have been around a long time. I think with the right instillation it would look good especially with the color of your home

I love tin roofs, but my husband finds it hard to sleep in the fire station he's stationed out that has a metal roof when it rains. He says the rain wakes him up from the noise.

We out a metal roof in a coastal home in Seattle and were worried about the noise of the rain on the roof (which we like). We paid to have a layer of styrofoam insulation added under it and it did three things. The house stayed MUCH warmer in the winter, MUCH cooler in the summer and it deadened the now from the rain to where we missed it.

Depends on your climate. If you're prone to hurricane type storms, you need longer and more fixings, as metal roofs can blow away. Agree about the insulated product, we have that option here in Aus, too.

Duh. If you can afford it, go with it...the most durable roof short of slate. Looks great, timeless...
