It is big and dark and we thought about painting it but we are afraid that we won't be able to go back if we make a mistake. Other thought is to paint the living room very white and clean and leave the big dark fireplace as the focal point. Room faces south but because of the overhang it doesn't get a lot of light. Thanks!
