Would you consider painting it a complimenting color?
What color did you have in mind? I just painted it dark. I wanted something striking. This was it before.

Hi---looks much better than before. Fine without anything, but if you must than here's what I recommend---keep the scale as pictured since there is a mirror on the dining wall. Good Luck!

The dark looks great. Nice job. Maybe an over sized clock. Or a canvas painting would look great too. I would not do a framed painting.

Thank you, Natalie. Would you do a mantle? I have this art piece I was thinking of hanging?
I would hang your painting and take a picture to compare.

Matt, what about the canvas above?
Spartans!!! I would move it a little further away from the edge of the fireplace if you going to hang that. It will look nice with the dark paint. A big thick old wood mantle that wraps around the whole fireplace would look cool too.

I think it needs to be something round... Round painting/art perhaps... :)

    What do you think?

I have to say its not my cup of tea. But if you like it then that's all that matters. What is on the front of the fireplace?

It's another piece of art. Do you think it is to large? Or just not a good look? I appreciate your honesty!

I like the painting. I think its to big and looks odd on there. I think a circular or oval shaped clock would look good on there. Something like this and paint it any color you want. I am big fan of that dark brick fireplace. And this clock wont hide it.

This piece over powers the space.

Thanks, Matt!! I will move the art to another location:)

Matt, where can I find a clock like that?

I would leave it as is, you did a great job in selecting a new color. It looks like a mid century fireplace now. Covering it up will not work with the opening on the corner. ...try the painting where the mirror is now

I just googled oversized wall clocks. Tons of options.

Great idea. I will move the painting where the mirror is. I'm so bad at putting rooms togethe. I need a proffesional to come over and help!!

Whats on the wall right of the fireplace? You might me able to put that painting there?
It's a little weird and industrial, but I will post a photo when I get home. I don't know what to do with that piece either.
