    Hi--Thank you! The stone is full, 6" thick natural stone. When selecting a stone mason, make sure you see work he has done in the past and make sure you like what you see before hiring him. Getting the correct stone is, of course, very important. Equally important is the way the stone is laid. I've seen some absolutely beautiful stone installed in incredibly awful ways.
