Ok so how do I get my bed to look like the comfy luxurious ones in 5 star hotels? Or on the PB and RH websites! And does the duvet go on top of the quilt or vice versa, because every store has it differently! So confused and just want to be swallowed up by comfort and warmth :)

@Select-My man, you don't know the half of it! I have toyed with the Youtube cooking idea before. See, I get to cook some on the weekends.

Yes, I do carry around a lot of seemingly useless information, but people find it entertaining sometimes(or infuriating).

@Laura Davis-I guess I should have clarified; I remember now that high thread count alone doesn't necessarily mean a high quality sheet. I'll go find someone else's post to bother.

My rule :
Crisp sheets - white in summer. Darker in winter
Neutral blanket
Quilted coverlet
Duvet folded in thirds at foot of bed
Two pillows stacked at head of bed (4total) fronted by :
Euro pillow shammed to match coverlet fronted by:
Regular pillow shammed like duvet fronted by:
Long decorative pillow and others as accent là

Not so fast! (w the thread counts, that is ;-) For my money, always go w Egyptian cotton, thread counts can be anywhere from 300 to 1000, depends on the manufacturer. I think once you find a good sheet set, stick w it. Oh, and you could use a mattress topper, they are avail everywhere. As for how to make bed, see above (mrprevost). Sweet dreams!

Thanks- I only use bamboo sheets as they are to die for! I seem to have everything you suggested, so I just need to put it together. Right now my coverlet is white as is my duvet, but tobuynew ones soon.

Lovely bed! I think I need a new quilt.... my 5 year old target purchase is just not cutting it! Anyone recommend a good brand and anything specific I should look for? Bed is a lovely leather gray platform bed.... Hubby is always cold, I am always hot and we usually end up with 4 kids in the bed at 6AM!

Got any Amish around? They make some nice ones. As for the kids, a good lock on the door should solve that problem. ;-)
