What does a "Womb" chair look like ? If you don't mind me asking.

danymak8 saarinen womb chair is a very modern designer chair, cost over $5000. I found one on houzz for $895 but not sure whether to risk buying it. Love the chair its just a classic. i sat in the $5000 real chair. Super comfortable,. If you search on Houzz its everywhere. Desginers love to use them.

If I may interject... "a picture MAY be worth a thousand words"... but rarely is it worth a thousand bucks...
I hear the tales all too frequently in my line of work...
"I really liked the way it looked in the picture, and it was such a good deal... but after installation, it wasn't what I thought it would be".
I'd look for a happy medium... 4-5 Grand is substantial, but 800 bucks may be for a product that LOOKS nice... but wouldn't be safe to sit in...

We've had long threads on other reproductions - specifically the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman. One of the best reproductions was determined to be sold by Rove Concepts. They also do the Womb Chair for somewhat more than the 800 bucks you are seeing.

No, please don't but a fake. Maybe you can find one at an estate sale of vintage shop!

Why don't you try to find one locally that you can sit in, and see what you think. I can't imagine how such a simple chair can be worth $3K other than it's novelty!

Womb chair is known for its comfortability. Apart from its novelty, I personally wouldn't go for such an expensive chair. But a replica, yes I wouldn't mind. I have sat in a womb chair replica at manhattan home design last time I visited their store. The material is extremely comfortable and it doesn't cost a bomb! Give it a try.
