Clever custom design for thoses of us with dogs! I would guess the width of the island is about 48".

Outside to outside it is about 54" wide. The island is full-depth cabinets (and appliances) back to back so the interior of the dish area is approximately 48".

Great job Artisan. I especially like the lighting inside the bowl cubby. A nice touch!

To Artisan Kitchens - I posted the question about the width of the unit earlier, and we are actually executing on this for our island in a new house we are building. Ours won't be quite as nice, but the idea is amazing and I thank you for posting it. i would have never thought of it!

    Hi Laine,

If I remember correctly it was around 14" deep inside. Best way to be sure it works for you is to measure your dog bowls and add 2" or so, front and back. Be sure there's enough room for the cabinet box itself and to allow for a toekick area (if there is one) in the front.
