I love books... tall book cases on both walls with a corner connecting bookcase would fill in the corner. You can use it for books, small artwork and collectables.

Seriously, how about "building out" the back of the sofa so the corner is smaller? What I would do is add a table behind the sofa/against the back of the sofa. Put a chair at it and you've added depth to the sofa and taken away space from the corner. My guess is that gives you a place to view the TV while you sit and eat or work at a laptop. In the new smaller corner I would paint a wide stripe on the wall to the left of the door - just a vertical band of color. It will add "weight" to the corner so it won't look empty.

I would paint the blank wall next to Einstein around to the seating at the counter and put a chest of drawers under the geometric painting. It won't feel empty and you'll maintian an open feeling. Who knows, you might find another piece of art just right for that area.
