We have Douglas Fir from when the original screened in porch was built approx. 50 years ago. Has worn great. Just sanded off layers of oil paint and found only a couple of water mark spots in the joins from roof leaks. Others woods are the exotic woods like teak, eucalyptus, etc. We are going to use Benjamin Moore Arborcoat Oil for the finish in either clear or the silver grey.
