Any Edgecomb Gray experts out there??

My dilemma is this. I was planning to use Edgecomb Gray as an all over color but I have two concerns. The first being that when I put samples on my walls it looks like a very pale ice blue color. Nothing like it looks on the poster board I painted. I currently have Benjamin Moore's Yosemite Sand and Dunn Edwards' Champagne on the walls (both yellow/gold based). When I tape white poster board around the swatches on the wall it looks much closer to what it looks like on the poster board and paint chip. SO.....I'm worried about what I 'm going to get now! Will it look like the greige that I love or a pale Ice-y blue?!?! :-/. Also, my other concern is some people have said it looks pink to them in natural light. My living room has two story ceilings (20 feet) that gets a lot of natural light. So now I worry if it will look pink....?? I'd love to hear from anyone and everyone can help me with my dilemma. THANKS!! :-)

Edgecomb Gray was recommended to me by a painter and I'm the process of painting a room with it now. It's definately not bluish or pink, but very beige. It's pretty but I was hoping it would be more gray than beige.

I have Edgecomb Grey in my foyer, hallway and up the stairs. It is greige and I love it. Warm but neutral. I use Cloud White for trim.

But I do not have the amount of natural light that you have by the sounds of it.

Thanks 20gwyncourt. Did you put samples on the wall first over another color? If so, did the color look very different??

No I did not. My Benjamin Moore consultant knew my house and it was her pick. She has never steered me wrong.

Amy did you ever paint your walls Edgecomb? I need an all over color - some walls face the north and I'm concerned they might look pink, and some walls face the south. I would love to know what you wound up picking - do you have pictures? Thanks :)

Christy25, try Revered Pewter by Benjamin Moore for your all over color.

Hi Christy. So.....I had the painter paint two walls in my living room, which is Southwest facing. The living room has 20 ft. ceilings., so these were two large/tall walls. I was not happy with the color. :-( It felt cold. It was a light icy bluish color. Long story short I ended up doing Benjamin Moore's Natural Linen all over and I love it. It truly is a natural linen like color....kind of a creamy beige with a subtle grey undertone. It is what you see in all of the Pottery Barn catalogs. I attached a few photos I have. I can take more tomorrow if you'd like. Ironically, I did end up painting my babies room Edgecomb Gray and I love it in there. It looks like a completely different color than it did in the living room. In the nursery it looks like a real "Greige." That room faces Northeast. Hope this helps! :-) On a side note....I wanted to love Revere Pewter but for me it was too dark and it was going blue in my space too. :-/

Amy, thanks for the photos of the paint color...this has helped me tremendously. I will be stopping by BM today to get a sample of Natural Linen to test out. MY QUESTION: My staircase is exactly like yours with the black railing and white spindles. Can you tell me what carpet and color you chose to go on your stairs and can you post additional photos if you have any? Thanks!
