Usual pieces are dinner, salad, side, cup and saucer don't really know what we are talking about

The nuns taught me this first rule "eat from the left and drink from the right".

So charger first; on that place the dinner plate; on the dinner plate place the salad plate; to the left place the bread plate. You want two forks to the left of the plate: outside salad fork(because you use that first) then dinner fork. To the right of the plate goes the knife (cutting edge facing the plate) and a teaspoon. if you are serving soup (before the salad), put the soup spoon then the teaspoon.

You need a butter knife if you are using a bread plate,
To the top right of the setting you put a water glass and a wine glass.

Dessert plate goes on a buffet or wherever, but not on the table during dinner.

Lots and lots of stuff on the table. When i got married, this is what we got...lots of china, lots of silver and lots of crystal. My table was set beautifully and after that was done I was so exhausted I could barely cook the food to match the setting. LOL.

Love that you asked and go for it. Nothing like beautiful table settings.

Don't forget the flowers.
