I have beautiful end tables that have been near a window and are very faded from the sun. I am not certain of the wood species but it is veneer with what appears to be walnut inlay. I stripped and sanded several times. The wood still has dark blotchy spots that show up when I wipe it with mineral spirits. I cannot tell if I have not removed all the old finish or if I have not sanded deep enough to remove the sun bleached areas. Please any specific advice to help me get the wood back in shape would be appreciated. Please note the darker strip is wet with mineral spirits.
