Brick wall finish?

This is a beautiful room. Was the brick wall finished like that when you started the project? Did you need to repoint it or remove paint?

    This is probably a brick tile. I have it in my kitchen and it’s beautiful. It already comes white washed and aged. It looks like the real thing so I’m guessing this may be it.
