Hi, I have sent more pics, yes lighting is an issue. I do have pictures to hang. I only have one other wall where the floor lamp is. Thank you for any advise. Should I change the couch?

Mine is brick...I've recently found a brick cleaner for the old soot. It's an ongoing project & not at the top of the list, but it's getting there.

Oh what is the brick cleaner you found? I'm on the search.

Just saw this, but I'll take a look at the name when I get home. I had to lay a bunch of old towels down on top of plastic, spray the brick with water first (soak it) then spray the cleaner, let it sit, then I took a scrub brush & sprayed that with the cleaner too & scrubbed the brick. It's a messy PITA, but it cleans it up really really nice!! The rinsing is messy too.

Make sure you have lots of absorbant rags handy. I have a stack of old bath towels.
