I don't know about the configuration of this particular kitchen, but in our kitchen (with the same kinds of corner cabinets) the corner storage space is not wasted. The left hand upper and lower cabinets on the window wall extend to the left into the corner for blind storage. You can also get cleverly designed pull out drawers that turn corners to go in these cabinets for easier access:

Usually, in kitchens that I have worked on with a corner, that right side would have a depth that reaches all the way to the back wall. The left side would meet a panel where the depth from the right extends. It's a bit of an awkward reach, but not wasted space. Hope that helps. Charmean Neithart
