Hi, we are currently replacing carpet in the family room with hardwood floors. I don't like the way how my contractor finished the floor around the fireplace. The white base running from the walls to the fireplace looks unfinished to me. Also not a fan of the T - junction where the floor meets the tile portion below the fireplace.

Please give your suggestions/recommendation on how these can be fixed, I would really appreciate it.
