Size for partially open shower enclosure?

I love this look - my shower will be about 28 by 58 - with a rain shower head - do you think the water would splash out of the shower stall on to the surrounding floor?

We just finished a renovation w a very similar open shower & are having a hard time controlling water drainage & pooling outside of the stall. What kind of bat mat could I use? Or some other clever trick? Thx!!
